The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring proper storage procedures, and supporting the smooth running of the engineering stores environment. This position is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and has an interest in inventory or warehouse operations.
You will work closely with the Stores Manager and other team members to ensure stock accuracy, reduce discrepancies, and maintain proper warehouse standards.
Key Responsibilities of Stores Clerk
- Manage stock levels and replenishment planning
- Maintain barcode and bin labelling systems
- Conduct daily cycle counts and stock checks
- Investigate stock variances and discrepancies
- Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving items
- Handle supplier deliveries and invoice queries
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and safety compliance
Requirements for Stores Clerk Position
- Previous stores or warehouse experience (advantageous)
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office and inventory systems)
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail
