Job Purpose
Successful candidates will assist Transnet’s construction and maintenance teams by:
- Supporting rail maintenance activities
- Assisting construction teams on-site
- Performing general labour duties
- Ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Transnet General Worker vacancy, applicants must have:
- Grade 9 qualification or higher
- At least 6 months of relevant experience
- Good physical fitness
- Ability to pass a medical examination
- Safety-conscious mindset
- Ability to communicate in English
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be considered
Key Responsibilities
General Workers will be expected to:
- Carry out duties assigned by Supervisors and Team Leaders
- Load and unload materials
