About the Bursary Administrator Position

The Bursary Administrator will provide accurate, organised and responsive administrative support throughout the bursary lifecycle.

The role involves working with students, educational institutions, clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Therefore, successful candidates must have strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential academic and financial information.

Bursary Administrator Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Supporting bursary recruitment and application processing.
  • Assisting with student onboarding.
  • Capturing, verifying and maintaining accurate student information.
  • Maintaining institution and programme records.
  • Managing bursary contracts and supporting documentation.
  • Processing academic records and proof of registration.
  • Managing invoices and other financial documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate digital records and programme trackers.
  • Supporting student allowance administration and payments.
  • Assisting with invoices and financial reconciliations.
  • Using Microsoft Excel to analyse information and identify discrepancies.
  • Identifying trends, risks and outstanding actions.
  • Preparing programme reports and schedules.
  • Preparing management information.
  • Supporting audits and compliance activities.
  • Assisting with reporting cycles and programme close-out activities.
  • Coordinating with students and educational institutions.
  • Communicating with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Providing administrative coordination.
  • Supporting team leadership where required.

Bursary Administrator Requirements

To be considered for the Bursary Administrator opportunities, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum NQF Level 6 qualification.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Two to three years of experience in administration, bursary administration, finance administration or a related field.
  • Applicants must be 35 years old or younger.
  • Accounting, bookkeeping or finance administration skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong data-management skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong record-keeping skills.
