Purpose of the Role:
To perform cleaning and refuse bin delivery tasks, including street cleaning, sweeping, lane flushing, carcass removal, bin deliveries, and stacking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean streets, bins, and designated areas using brooms, shovels, and litter pickers
- Collect and place refuse bags at designated points for collection
- Report safety incidents, equipment issues, and injuries
- Distribute refuse bags to communities
- Stack refuse bags correctly and remove boxes
- Deliver and replace refuse bins, ensuring proper documentation and customer sign-off
- Follow all safety and operational procedures
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10 qualification
- 12 months cleaning/general work experience
- No criminal record
- Physically and mentally fit
- South African citizen
- Must reside within the City of Johannesburg (proof of address required)
Required Competencies:
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and procedures
- Understanding of relevant legislation and company policies
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work in a team
- Good communication with the public and team members
