Programme Overview

This structured work-based learning programme combines theoretical training, practical application, and workplace experience in cybersecurity. The purpose is to develop competent cybersecurity practitioners with the technical, analytical, and behavioural skills required to safeguard digital systems and data in line with national occupational standards.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must meet the following:

  • A relevant IT, Computer Science, or Engineering degree, OR a BSc/BCom degree with a strong focus on Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • South African citizen, aged 21 to 28 (learnership eligibility criteria)
  • Must not have previously participated in a similar QCTO-accredited learnership at NQF Level 5
  • Basic understanding of information systems, networks, and/or cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to commit to the full 12-month learnership period
