Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or similar
- Minimum 2 years experience working in Information Security or Cybersecurity
- 2 years additional IT administration experience
- Industry certifications will be a very strong advantage: CISSP, SANS, CEH, Security+, ISO 27001
- Advantageous: MS Intune / O365 Security, firewalls, vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection
Job Description
The Information Security Analyst L1 will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and responding to security threats, conducting vulnerability assessments and ensuring compliance with SBV’s information security standards and all regulatory requirements including POPI and PAIA.
Key Responsibilities:
Threat Monitoring and Incident Response
- Monitor network, intrusion detection and prevention systems on a daily basis
- Investigate and respond to all security breaches and suspected incidents
- Conduct root cause analysis for all security events and submit reports to the Information Security Officer
- Conduct log correlation and evidence gathering for all investigations
Security Assessments and Compliance
- Conduct vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
- Monitor compliance against SBV information security standards and best practices
- Support internal and external security audits and reviews
- Ensure full alignment with ISO 9001:2015 and all regulatory requirements
Security Awareness and Improvement
- Create and deliver information security awareness training and communication
- Research global security threats and trends and provide recommendations to management
- Contribute to the development of security policies, processes and playbooks
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new security tools
