About the Role
EASTC Technical School, a leading technical high school committed to academic excellence and practical skills development, is seeking dynamic and dedicated FET Teachers (Grades 10–12) in the following subjects:
- Information Technology (IT)
- Engineering Graphics & Design (EGD)
- Physical Science
- Mathematics
- English
- History
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (BEd) or relevant degree plus PGCE
- SACE registration (compulsory)
- Proven experience teaching at FET phase (Grades 10–12)
- Strong knowledge of CAPS curriculum and assessment standards
- Passion for teaching in a technical/vocational context (highly advantageous)
- Good computer literacy, especially for IT and blended‑learning environments
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach learners in Grades 10–12 in the allocated FET subject
- Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons with real‑world technical applications
- Use innovative teaching strategies and modern classroom technologies
- Prepare learners for exams, including SBA, PATs and external assessments
- Support learners through extra lessons, projects and mentorship
- Collaborate with academic and technical departments
- Plan, prepare and present lessons in line with CAPS requirements
- Assess, record and report on learner performance per school and DHET policies
- Develop lesson plans, assessment tasks and support materials
- Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment
- Participate in curriculum development, moderation and academic meetings
- Perform any other duties reasonably related to the role
