Department of Defence General Store Assistant Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• ABET qualification.
• No previous work experience required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good numerical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be expected to:

• Provide an efficient store support service.
• Ensure all equipment and goods are received correctly and in good condition.
• Maintain registers for equipment received and issued.
• Be familiar with the prescribed Fire Order (DD19).
• Operate and use fire extinguishing equipment safely.
• Perform stock-related administrative duties.
• Carry out ad hoc store tasks as instructed by supervisors.

Salary

Successful candidates will receive a salary of:

R144 024 – R169 656 per annum (Salary Level 02).

Government employees may also receive additional benefits in accordance with public service regulations.
