Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be unemployed and not currently studying or enrolled in any learnership programme
  • Not hold any post-matric qualification
  • Have a Matric (Grade 12) certificate with Mathematics/Math Literacy and Life Sciences (minimum Level 3 in all subjects)
  • Be a South African citizen with a valid ID
  • Be aged 18–35 years

Key Duties

As part of the programme, you will:

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of horticultural sites and plant production areas

  • Conduct soil preparation and planting activities
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and irrigation systems
  • Participate in plant propagation, watering, and fertilizing
  • Attend classes and workshops as part of the programme
  • Complete assignments, projects, and practical assessments
  • Maintain a practical logbook to evaluate knowledge and understanding
