About the Programme
This Retail Learnership Programme offers unemployed South African youth the opportunity to gain practical retail experience while completing accredited training aligned with W&RSETA requirements.
Learners will develop essential workplace skills, customer service experience, and retail operations knowledge.
Programme Overview
As a learner, you will attend theoretical training sessions while gaining hands-on experience in a retail environment.
You will be required to complete assessments, assignments, and a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) to successfully complete the programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend all training sessions provided by the training provider
- Complete assessments, assignments, and PoE requirements
- Assist customers and provide basic customer service
- Support merchandising and restocking of products
- Assist with point-of-sale (POS) operations where required
- Maintain store cleanliness and housekeeping standards
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate logbook entries
- Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and reliability
- Engage with mentors and supervisors to support learning
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Must be unemployed
- South African citizen
- Clear criminal record
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Must not have completed an unemployed learnership before
- Willingness to work retail hours (including weekends and public holidays)
