South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the General Worker vacancy at Kruger National Park 2026. The successful candidate will support conservation operations, maintenance activities, and daily ranger section duties at Vlakteplaas Ranger Section.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with Grade 12, basic occupational health and safety knowledge, and general worker experience who want to build a career within South Africa’s conservation sector.

General Worker Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing manual labour to maintain water provision installations
• Supporting conservation and environmental management activities
• Assisting with waste management and recycling initiatives
• Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
• Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards are followed
• Assisting with alien plant control activities
• Cleaning and maintaining facilities
• Supporting fire management activities when required
• Assisting with game capture operations when needed
• Supporting soil erosion prevention and land rehabilitation programmes
• Performing general cleaning and maintenance duties
• Completing additional tasks as assigned by supervisors

Requirements for SANParks General Worker Jobs

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 qualification
• Valid Code B driver’s licence
• Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
• 1–2 years general worker experience
• Physically fit and able to work in challenging conditions
• Knowledge of tools, equipment handling and aftercare
• Ability to assist with ranger post maintenance
• Basic understanding of safety procedures
