Ekurhuleni West TVET College invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the permanent position of Career Guidance Officer at Tembisa Campus.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric or NCV Level 4;
- Degree / National Diploma (NQF 6) in Business Administration, Public Management, Marketing, Public Relations or an equivalent qualification;
- 1–2 years’ relevant experience in an Employment Services/Administration environment;
- Valid driver’s licence (added advantage).
Knowledge Requirements
- Employment services market;
- PSET and CET Act;
- Public Service prescripts and DHET policies;
- Industrial operations and identification of labour market opportunities;
- Opportunity linkages with industries.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate placement of students;
- Conduct job readiness training programmes;
- Maintain employer and student placement database;
- Develop quality electronic reports and statistics;
- Monitor and evaluate work placement practices;
- Conduct work-based assessments for students;
The incumbent will also be responsible for:
- Providing student support services;
- Providing student counselling and/or referral services;
- Implementing student work placement and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) policies;
- Providing career guidance, counselling and academic support to students;
- Implementing sport, recreation, arts and culture programmes for students on campus;
- Facilitating student governance, student leadership development and exit support programmes.

- NEW Z83 form (effective 01 January 2021) (old Z83 forms will be disqualified);
- Comprehensive CV with three (3) contactable references (include email addresses);
- Original certified copy of SACE Certificate (if applicable);
- Original certified copies of qualifications (evaluated by DHET & SAQA if foreign);
- Original certified copy of Identity Document (front and back if ID card);
- Original certified copy of driver’s licence (front and back);
- Original certified copy of academic record/transcript.
