BURSARY OPPORTUNITY: REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATE (DRONE PILOT) – GAUTENG PROVINCE ONLY

Flyfofa Aviation Training, in partnership with the National Skills Fund through the Department of Higher Education and Training, is offering a bursary for a Remote Pilot Certificate (Drone Pilot) training programme.

This opportunity is open to suitable candidates living in the Gauteng Province who wish to become certified drone pilots

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

  • Qualification: Remote Pilot Certificate (Drone Pilot)
  • Duration: 12 weeks – full‑time training
  • Benefits: Training, accommodation and a monthly stipend are included

The course covers:

  • Drone regulations and SACAA requirements
  • Safe flying practices and operating procedures
  • How drones work and are controlled
  • All theoretical and practical components required for the Remote Pilot Certificate
  • Preparation for internal and external SACAA examinations

You will gain hands‑on experience flying drones in a safe training environment under the supervision of experienced instructors. After completing the course, you will demonstrate your knowledge and flying skills to a qualified examiner in order to obtain your Remote Pilot Certificate.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be a South African citizen
  2. Must be between 18 and 23 years of age
  3. Must currently reside in Gauteng Province
  4. Must have completed Grade 12 (matric) in Gauteng at a Quintile 1–3 school only
  5. Must have obtained a minimum of Level 5 in English
  6. Must have obtained at least Level 4 in Mathematics and Level 5 in Mathematical Literacy
  7. Must be willing to undergo an aviation medical examination
  8. Must demonstrate good communication, judgement and decision‑making skills
  9. Must be able to multitask and show strong hand‑eye coordination
  10. Must be technically and safety‑oriented and culturally sensitive

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • Only South African citizens of all race groups residing in Gauteng Province
  • Only learners who attended high school at Quintile 1, 2 or 3 in Gauteng Province, OR SASSA Child Grant recipients

  3. Copy of Grade 12 certificate or statement of results

SELECTION PROCESS
