Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • No prior experience required.

Knowledge of:

  • Basic cleaning procedures.
  • Use and care of cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Safe working practices in a cleaning environment.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic numeracy and literacy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Sound human relations and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
  • Basic interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Willingness to:
    • Work under pressure.
    • Rotate between different areas.
    • Work shifts (including weekends and public holidays as required).
    • Perform physical labour.
  • Must be willing to wear protective clothing as required by law.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean floors, doors, walls, windows, beds, bed lockers, steps, and other surfaces.
  • Perform all assigned indoor and outdoor cleaning duties.
  • Operate cleaning equipment (e.g. polishers) safely and correctly.
  • Use cleaning chemicals according to instructions and safety standards.
  • Assist with additional duties as allocated by supervisors.
