Apply for the Department of Tourism External Bursaries 2026 (Pretoria). The Department offers bursary opportunities to South African students studying towards a Diploma, Degree, Honours, MSc, MTech, Master’s or PhD in the fields listed below. Completed applications must be submitted by 20 March 2026.

The Department of Tourism invites South African students to apply for External Bursaries 2026 (Pretoria). Bursaries are available to students studying towards Diplomas, Degrees, Honours, MSc/MTech, Master’s and PhD qualifications in a range of priority fields. The bursary will be awarded for the remainder of the approved study period and may be renewed annually subject to satisfactory academic performance. Successful candidates will be required to enter into a formal contract with the Department of Tourism.

Duration

The bursary will be awarded for the remainder of the approved study period and will be renewed annually, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Successful candidates will be required to enter into a formal contractual agreement with the Department of Tourism.

  2. Complete the form and attach certified documents (see Requirements below).
  3. Submit before 20 March 2026 by hand, post or email (details below).

Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • Proof of registration at a recognised institution
  • Proof of parents/guardian income
  • A motivational letter
