About the Role

ER24 is looking for a dedicated Emergency Contact Centre Agent to join their Rivonia team.

This role is critical in ensuring fast and accurate emergency response by assessing incoming calls and coordinating emergency vehicles through a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Job Title: Emergency Contact Centre Agent

You will be responsible for handling emergency and non-emergency calls, prioritizing incidents, and dispatching the appropriate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) resources.

Job Description

The successful candidate will support emergency response operations by managing calls, logging incidents, and coordinating dispatch services to ensure timely assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch emergency vehicles using the CAD system
  • Receive, log, and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Determine the appropriate level of EMS response required
  • Provide basic contact centre administration support
  • Monitor and manage alerts and incident reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication during emergencies

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
  • Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) / Level 3 First Aid (Advantageous)

Experience

  • Contact centre or emergency call centre experience (Essential)
  • 1–3 years EMS dispatch experience (Advantageous)

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Dispatching and coordination skills
  • Basic emergency care knowledge
  • Strong typing skills
  • Excellent English communication (verbal & written)
  • Knowledge of geographical locations
  • Understanding of EMS environments
  • Professional phone and email etiquette
