The Golden Arrow Bus Services Bursary Programme is now open for applications.
This bursary supports students who need financial assistance and are committed to building a future in the technology sector while contributing to South Africa’s development.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- SASSA grant recipients automatically qualify
- Household income must not exceed:
- R400,000 per year (general applicants)
- R600,000 per year (persons with disability)
- Must be studying BSc Computer Science (from 2nd year onwards)
- Must be willing to work for Golden Arrow Bus Services for the same number of years funded
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary provides financial support based on DHET guidelines and includes:
- Tuition fees (as per university approved rates)
- Accommodation (aligned with university residence costs; private accommodation capped accordingly)
- Transport costs
- Monthly stipend of R4,000 (or as determined by GABS) for living and study-related expenses
Required Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Certified copy of ID document
- Certified academic transcripts
- Proof of university enrolment
- Proof of home address
- Proof of household income (payslips or bank statements)
- Recommendation letters (academic or professional)
- Disability assessment report (if applicable)
- Death certificates (if orphaned)
