Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team at Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch in Johannesburg.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about HR administration, recruitment, and employee support. You will assist in managing employee records, handling applications, coordinating onboarding processes, and supporting overall HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Maintain and organize employee records and filing systems
- Create and manage personnel files for new employees
- File, track, and process employment applications
- Prepare and type HR correspondence and documentation
Communication & Support
- Answer phone calls and record messages professionally
- Communicate job offer requirements to successful candidates
- Assist employees with HR-related queries
- Maintain clear and professional communication at all times
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate interview documentation and records
- Ensure new hires bring required documents for onboarding
- Support employment verification processes
- Update HR notice boards with recruitment and company updates
Payroll & Office Support
- Assist in auditing and distributing paychecks
- Support general office administrative tasks
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and legal requirements
Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in HR or administrative role
Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
