About the Role
The City of Ekurhuleni is seeking a dynamic and experienced Integrated Development Planning (IDP) Facilitator to play a pivotal role in shaping the municipality’s strategic development agenda. In this key position, you will coordinate the IDP process, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure alignment between municipal planning and service delivery objectives, contributing directly to sustainable urban development and improved quality of life for Ekurhuleni residents.
Key Responsibilities
- IDP Coordination: Lead and coordinate the IDP process in compliance with statutory timeframes and municipal planning requirements
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic capability and leadership within the division to ensure delivery of objectives within specified timeframes and costs
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate meaningful participation of relevant stakeholders in developing the 5-year IDP and its annual revisions
- Business Plan Alignment: Analyse and review departmental/entity business plans in line with applicable frameworks and guidelines
- Implementation Monitoring: Assist in monitoring the implementation of IDP ward priorities across city departments
- Financial Governance: Implement financial processes ensuring compliance with internal control and governance standards
- Policy Application: Apply understanding of policies, laws, regulations, and industry practices to planning and recommendation processes
- Service Excellence: Promote and exemplify Batho Pele principles through exceptional customer service and ethical conduct
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Degree in Public Administration, Research, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Development Studies or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
- Experience: 3-5 years’ work experience with at least 1-2 years in a local government environment
- Special Skills: Proven logistics and content management experience
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of municipal planning frameworks and IDP processes
- Attributes: Strong analytical, facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities
