About the Assistant Electrician Job at Magalies Water
Magalies Water is currently recruiting for Assistant Electrician jobs in the Far West Region. This opportunity forms part of the organisation’s internal maintenance workforce and is ideal for candidates with electrical maintenance experience and technical skills.
Additionally, the successful candidates will support the maintenance team in ensuring the efficient operation of electrical systems across water infrastructure facilities.
Assistant Electrician Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Electrician will be responsible for:
- Assisting with repair and maintenance of electrical plugs, lights, and appliances
- Supporting installation of flow meters at reservoirs, boreholes, and pump stations
- Assisting with cable installations at pumphouses
- Helping replace induction motors and related equipment
- Digging and refilling trenches for electrical cable trunking
- Cleaning and maintaining tools, vehicles, and workshop areas
- Performing lock-out procedures on electrical equipment
- Identifying and marking electrical circuits
- Monitoring faults on pumps and electrical motors in the field
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Performing general housekeeping duties in maintenance areas
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this Assistant Electrician job at Magalies Water, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Technical Matric advantageous)
- N1–N2 Electrical Certificate (advantageous)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance environment
- Valid EB Driver’s License
