National Key Accounts Manager (Pick n Pay)

Clover is seeking a results-driven and highly motivated National Key Accounts Manager to join their Commercial team. This role focuses on managing and growing the Pick n Pay national account, driving sales growth, profitability, and strategic customer relationships.

This position is based at Clover Head Office in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Fluent in Business English
  • Code 08 Driver’s License
  • Willingness to travel / overnight stays
  • Experience working with senior management

Key Responsibilities

Account Development

  • Develop and manage customer account plans
  • Analyse category performance and drive growth
  • Create 5-year account development strategies
  • Ensure strategic alignment with sales objectives

Trading & Budget Management

  • Manage trading terms and promotional budgets
  • Prepare co-op and rebate budgets
  • Ensure profitability of key accounts
  • Conduct business reviews for national accounts

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Schedule client visits and regional engagement
  • Manage customer entertainment plans
  • Ensure regular communication with key stakeholders

Sales & Profitability

  • Analyse daily sales performance and take action
  • Conduct gap analysis (budget vs actual)
  • Manage pricing strategy and margins
  • Ensure account profitability is maintained

Pricing & Product Strategy

  • Coordinate price increases nationally and regionally
  • Manage product listings and ranging strategies
  • Work with marketing on new product launches

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Prepare annual volume and revenue budgets
  • Report monthly on sales performance
  • Ensure financial targets are achieved
