About the Receptionist role
This YES Receptionist placement is ideal for unemployed youth who want to start a career in office administration and front‑office support.

As a Receptionist, you will provide general administrative and reception support to the business. You will help with document preparation, meeting coordination, data management and visitor assistance, while ensuring a professional and welcoming front‑office environment.

Key responsibilities

General administrative support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the admin department.
  • Format and standardise internal documents to ensure consistency and professionalism.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations and correspondence.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, take meeting minutes and distribute them timeously.
  • Conduct basic research and compile information to support projects and decision‑making.
  • Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets and filing systems for accurate record‑keeping.
  • Input and manage data across shared drives and other company platforms.
  • Assist with printing, scanning and photocopying documents as required.

Front office and facilities coordination

  • Provide daily reception cover, ensuring a professional, friendly and welcoming front‑office presence.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take accurate messages and manage the reception email where required.
  • Greet and assist visitors, provide basic information, offer refreshments and direct them to the correct person or office.
  • Assist in coordinating travel and accommodation bookings for employees when needed.
  • Schedule and track maintenance tasks, repairs and inspections to support a well‑run office environment.

Cross‑departmental collaboration

  • Work closely with the Office Manager to ensure all administrative tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Assist the admin department with filing, printing and document management tasks.
  • Support the Marketing team with event planning, logistics and execution of marketing initiatives, where required.

Minimum requirements
To qualify for this YES Receptionist opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
  • Must not have participated in the YES programme before.
  • Matric / Grade 12.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
