Supply Chain Management Job Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising various supply chain management and procurement functions, including:
Demand, Acquisition and Contract Management
- Manage and supervise demand, acquisition, logistics and contract management.
- Ensure compliance with acquisition, logistics and demand management prescripts, policies, practice notes and delegations of authority.
- Develop and maintain internal control measures for procurement.
- Ensure effective management of the supply chain demand process.
- Compile and consolidate the Demand Management Plan.
- Coordinate inputs into the Demand Management Plan.
- Ensure procurement activities are aligned with the approved demand plan.
- Ensure effective utilisation of the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
Procurement and Bid Administration
- Manage acquisition processes, including bid administration.
- Assist with compiling Terms of Reference (TORs), specifications and bid documents.
- Provide secretariat support to bid committees.
- Perform administrative duties during tender and bid briefing sessions.
- Assist with reviewing the scope of Terms of Reference.
- Monitor the validity periods of closed tenders.
- Coordinate and execute bidding processes.
- Arrange and attend Bid Evaluation Committee meetings.
- Manage bid processes and support the effective functioning of bid committees.

Contract Management
- Manage contracts and related administrative processes.

SCM Reporting and Compliance

- Ensure compliance with departmental SCM policies and procedures.
Human Resources and Staff Management
- Manage and supervise employees within the SCM unit.
- Ensure the effective delivery of supply chain management services.
- Perform administrative functions relating to financial and human resources administration.
- Perform human resources and administrative activities relating to SCM.
- Assess the performance of officials within the unit through PMDS.
