Job Overview
Neosho Trading 86 Proprietary Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Stockyard Controller to join our coal mining operations at Moabsvelden Colliery in Mpumalanga.
The successful candidate will be responsible for stockpile management, coal quality control, and ensuring accurate product delivery in line with Eskom Coal Quality Management Procedures (CQMP).
Main Purpose of the Role
To ensure effective quality control and management of stockpiles, stockyard, and plant operations, guaranteeing that the correct coal product is delivered to clients in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic coal preparation knowledge (advantageous)
Experience & Skills Required
- 2–3 years experience as a Stockyard Controller (essential)
- Strong background in stockpile management and coal handling
- Computer literacy (data recording & reporting)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in mining operations
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and manage stockpiles according to Eskom CQMP standards
- Conduct daily inspections ensuring safe and efficient stockyard operations
- Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments in plant and stockyard areas
- Manage ROM coal stockpiling in coordination with mining teams
- Prevent contamination between coal seams and products
- Perform ROM and product reconciliation
- Ensure correct labelling, surveying, and sampling of stockpiles
- Liaise with plant operators and laboratories for quality and sizing control
- Oversee correct loading of coal products including:
- Duff
- Peas
- Nuts
- Fines
- Eskom specification products
- Monitor ROM movement from pits to plant to ensure operational accuracy
